People looking for good camping and self catering holiday accommodation on the South Coast of KZN won't go wrong by selecting Port Edward as a destination. As the last town on the KZN South Coast before the Eastern Cape, there is plenty to keep one occupied for the duration of your holiday.
Some of the local attractions in and around Port Edward include, beautiful beaches, deep sea fishing, good rock & surf angling, water sports in the sea and on the Umtamvuna River, hiking, golf, restaurants and much more.
Port Edward makes a good holiday destination in the sense that it is small enough to create that village atmosphere but large enough that you still have adequate access to shops, pubs & restaurants etc. Being slightly off the beaten track ensures that you are not caught up in the traffic associated with Margate and Shelly Beach, especially during those peak holiday times when long traffic lines are not uncommon. However, Margate and the shopping malls in Shelly Beach are nevertheless just a short 20 minute drive away, ensuring that just about any shopping itch can easily be scratched.
